Space2Create is an uncomplicated and creative approach to deliver a grant incentive scheme, to encourage applicants across all sectors, with a particular focus on those within the Creative, Digital, Heritage, Leisure and Food sectors and commercial property owners, to deliver enterprising uses for spaces across the City, to enable further development and utilisation of spaces as part of the enterprise ecosystem.
The grant will support the implementation of ideas and showcase novel uses of spaces – including events space, co-working, and trialling innovations, local supply, the circular economy.
Grant Criteria:
Following on from previous tranches, new grant incentive support will be available for potential applicants to stimulate creative thinking and implement viable projects that will aim to enhance the City of Doncaster across key urban areas. This will include but not limited to; the development of events space, co-working, multi-use enterprise space. the creation of enterprise, co-working and test-trading spaces to enable the attraction of new start-growth businesses, and bring vibrancy to Doncaster’s urban centres.
The grant should be sought as part of additional match funding secured for a project, with evidence of secured investment funding forming part of the grant application process, and supporting evidence required.
Grant incentives are available up to £25k (Min. £5k), based on a 75/25% intervention rate, and dependent on indicative outcomes and outputs achieved.
As an example, the successful applicant provides £15,000 for a £20,000 project with an incentive funding of £5,000 being awarded.
This project is funded by the UK government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund. The UK Shared Prosperity Fund provides £2.6 billion of funding for local investment by March 2025.
