The City of Doncaster is undergoing transformational changes to its urban landscape and infrastructure; which are providing fantastic investment and re-location opportunities for office-based services.
The UK combined service industries include the following sectors:
Together they account for 80% of total UK economic output (Gross Value Added) in January – March 2021 (source: House of Commons Library). This gives a measure of how important office-based services are to the national and local economy.
The Urban Masterplan for Doncaster city centre considers the changing face of retail and reimagines how former retail spaces could be used.
It embraces the creation of a Central Business District which benefits from direct access to the road network, Doncaster Sheffield Airport, and the East Coast mainline train station (which has just undergone a £7.5 million refurbishment).
The Cultural Quarter is just a stone’s throw away, featuring the new Doncaster Gallery, Library and Art Gallery and Museum, Cast theatre and a seven-screen cinema.
Add to that the recent £20 million investment in the Civic Offices and you will get a snapshot of what a fantastic place the city centre is to invest in locating office-based services.
Outside of the city centre, Doncaster is already home to several global head offices, call centres and regional financial and legal services companies including BT, Capita, My Pension Expert, Verisure, Next, Amazon and Close Brothers Motor Finance. Other new development locations for office-based services include Lakeside, Doncaster Sheffield Airport, Unity Yorkshire and Waterfront.
There is a great variety of office types to select from, whether you are looking to hot-desk, co-work, need a dedicated workstation, a standard office, an office suite, a full office floor or a dedicated office building.
There is also an option to rent managed office spaces, for those who want easy in, easy out, with all the facilities that you would expect including manned reception, meeting space and conference facilities.
This diverse choice of office space allows your office to grow with your business needs.
Flexible rentals are available, and with the average office rental price at around £10 per square foot, there is an affordable option to suit all stages of your business development.
There are also freehold and leasehold plots available for businesses that want to be able to create purpose-built office space.
The Business Doncaster team can provide help and support on which option would work best for you and your situation. Excellent networking opportunities are available for you to meet up with other local businesses to get a real feel for what it is like to be part of the Doncaster business community.
