Dual Inventive was founded in the Netherlands in 2008, subsequently entering the UK in 2009.
The business develops and produces innovative IoT technology products to enhance safety and efficiency for the rail sector. Their SIL4 rated products achieve this by providing fast, remote-controlled track access by combining IoT and cloud technologies.
As well as providing enhanced protection for track workers, it also reduces the time to place and remove protection, leading to increased train path capacity.
Their primary objective is to improve the rail network, reusing what already exists without the need for costly renewals. Using their products, they ensure safer track access, whilst helping to keep the national rail infrastructure operational. Their products are operated remotely via an online secure platform MTinfo 3000 - a cloud-based system built to the highest Safety Integrity Level, SIL 4.
In 2019, the Network Rail Safety Task Force was launched, an initiative to help improve the safety of rail employees. Network Rail identified that greater deployment of the ZKL 3000 RC across their infrastructure could help improve the safety of their staff working on or near the line. This led to Dual Inventive further expanding their operations in the UK.
The company operates in France, Belgium, Germany and the Netherlands, and has partnered with a business in Australia to introduce the ZKL 3000 RC into the market there - using their knowledge, experience and connections. The business is also currently exploring new markets, such as Ireland, Canada and North America.
In 2024, Dual Inventive and Network Rail signed a Collaborative Working Agreement to further increase the usage of the ZKL 3000 RC product across the UK.
Dual Inventive is continuously looking for ways to enhance safety in the rail sector as demonstrated with their latest product, the RSS 3000, a remote safety switch, which has recently received full certificate of acceptance by Network Rail.
