Doncaster IT business secures grant funding to improve efficiency

by Heather Hamilton

A successful Doncaster IT business has invested in advanced tech in a bid to improve productivity after receiving a Business Productivity & Digitisation Grant supported and delivered by Business Doncaster.

Since 2003, Holistic IT have been dedicated to supporting clients from Doncaster and across South Yorkshire, providing award-winning IT support, cutting-edge technology, and innovative solutions.

Cybersecurity is a cornerstone of their offerings as they understand the critical importance of protecting client’s data and systems from threats. Their comprehensive cybersecurity services are designed to safeguard businesses from potential risks, ensuring operations remain secure and uninterrupted.

Luke Shepherd said: “As a business owner, one of the best pieces of advice I received in the early days of Holistic IT was that time is the only commodity you cannot make more of. If you can outsource work to someone else, you should! This not only frees up your time for what you excel at but also allows you to focus on what you enjoy”.

“In short; trust us to handle your IT needs, so you can concentrate on growing your business with peace of mind” he added.

Holistic IT, previously known as Holistic Technologies, began as a specialised cybersecurity provider for the UK business sector. Initially targeting larger enterprises with in-house IT teams looking for outsourced cybersecurity solutions, the company soon broadened its offerings.

Acknowledging the rising need for fully managed IT services in Doncaster and South Yorkshire, they formed a team of IT support experts to run a proactive helpdesk and device monitoring service. This proactive strategy fosters strong collaboration with clients, ensuring the reliable and secure operation of their IT infrastructure.

They were also early adopters of cloud services, introducing cloud backup solutions in the early 2000s. Around the same time, they participated as beta testers and later became providers of Microsoft’s BPOS service, which eventually evolved into Microsoft 365.

Holistic IT received funding through the UKSPF Productivity and Digitisation Grant to implement a Human Resources and Health and Safety Management System. This enabled them to improve operational efficiency in those areas of work.

By streamlining these processes, the software has freed up valuable time for key personnel, allowing them to focus on the essential business functions. This change has directly contributed to achieving their growth objectives in both revenue and employment and marked an important milestone in business productivity.

Business Doncaster helped Holistic IT apply for the Productivity & Digitisation Grant to support its investment.
