With over 30 years of innovating on the railways, McCulloch Group are specialists in transforming rail infrastructure.
Operating multiple sites across the UK and with a strong national presence supporting the rail industry, the Doncaster office serves as a crucial base for over 80 staff members, providing logistical and operational support for their workforce.
While many employees are based at the Doncaster office, their roles frequently require them to work on-site at various locations across the UK, delivering specialist rail solutions.
McCulloch is actively expanding its Doncaster site at GatewayEast, a move set to drive significant business growth and workforce expansion. The new facility will feature a track designed for Network Rail use, further strengthening Doncaster’s position as a key hub for rail operations and enhancing McCulloch’s service offerings in the rail sector. The ongoing expansion of the Doncaster site will not only enhance the company’s capabilities but also reinforce its commitment to innovation and excellence in rail operations nationwide.
Mayor of Doncaster, Ros Jones said: “I am delighted to see local rail business McCulloch Group expanding, bringing new jobs, innovation, and a boost to our local economy. Investing in modern transport networks is key to building a stronger, more sustainable future for the rail industry and we will do all we can to support local businesses to help make this happen.”
Jon Davies, Head of Rail Doncaster said: “Doncaster’s prime location puts us at the heart of convenience, opportunity, connectivity, and growth. It is the perfect place for the company to expand and do business and we’re excited for the future”
Business Doncaster, the economic development arm of Doncaster Council has been collaborating with the McCulloch Group for several years. As a key Doncaster rail company, they have benefited significantly from the team’s support and guidance and the team are actively supporting them and the landowner in addressing the critical power requirements necessary for their expansion.
In addition to investment support, the company has actively engaged with the Advance team, taking advantage of various training and development opportunities. Many employees have successfully completed industry-recognised courses such as the Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS), Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) certification, First Aid at Work, and Mental Health First Aid.
Further demonstrating their commitment to workforce development and local recruitment, McCulloch Group also participated as an exhibitor at the Recruitment Showcase held last month (February). Their involvement highlights their dedication to both employee upskilling and attracting new talent to the rail industry in Doncaster.
