Work starts on new Riverdale Park development in Doncaster

Great Places has started work on 50 new affordable homes in Doncaster as part of a major redevelopment scheme in the area.

The homes are a mixture of one, two and three-bedroom houses and will be delivered in partnership with Harworth Group and partly funded by Homes England and will provide much-needed affordable housing to the area.

The development will form part of the final phase of the Riverdale Park regeneration scheme, which will transform the former McCormick Tractor site into a mixed-use major development to create a range of opportunities for residential, retail and employment alongside the Don riverbank and Wheatley Hall Road.

Commenting on the announcement Helen Spencer, our Executive Director of Growth, said: "We’re delighted to be part of the Riverdale Park development. Close work with Harworth Group has enabled us to unlock this important site to deliver 50 new affordable homes in the area where we know that demand is high.

We’re committed to providing high-quality, sustainable, and affordable housing in the areas we operate and we look forward to working with Harworth Group and other partners to deliver this project."

The development is planned to be completed by July 2025.
