WorkWell is a new service that will offer free support for people aged 16+ in Doncaster, Barnsley, Rotherham and Sheffield to address the rising flow of people out of work and support long-term sick or disabled people to start, stay, and succeed in work through integrated work and health support.
The South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority (SYMCA) is working with the NHS South Yorkshire Integrated Care Board (SYICB) and the Joint Work and Health Unit to pilot the WorkWell programme, designed to help individuals find, maintain, and thrive in employment in Doncaster and South Yorkshire.
South Yorkshire Housing Association (SYHA) have recently been awarded the WorkWell contract and are pleased to announce are now offering low-intensity interventions targeted at people aged 16+, in work or recently unemployed who are struggling due to a health condition or disability, living in South Yorkshire.

WorkWell supports both individuals and employers. Employers may wish to signpost employee's, to discuss their work and health needs, supporting them to stay in or return to work after a period of absence. Participants will have access to a holistic health and work assessment and personalised goal setting and action planning, dedicated Employment Specialists and/or Health at Work Coaches (expertise in health and/or counselling), signposting and/or referrals into local services, access to financial advice, and access to a participant fund to be used to overcome work-related barriers.
Individuals can be referred to WorkWell through their employer, local services within the area, primary care providers such as GPs, Jobcentre Plus and themselves through self-referral.
SYHA continues to provide a specialised IPS model employment service, supporting individuals who are accessing Community Mental Health in South Yorkshire.
