There’s lots of childcare support available to parents of younger children

Ofsted registered childminders, day nurseries, seasonal care sessions, breakfast clubs and afterschool clubs and holiday play scheme will help you juggle the pressures of childcare whilst you work or if just need to take some time out for yourself.

Wherever you live in the Borough, you won’t have to travel far to take your children to one of the 132 local primary schools which cater for all faiths and beliefs.

For older children, there are over 38 secondary schools with over half of them attaining outstanding scores from Ofsted. There’s a mix of state run, academy, comprehensive and independent educational establishments. Doncaster is also home to one of the few specialist Deaf Schools in the UK.

Courses on offer range from vocational qualifications and diplomas to undergraduate and post graduate degrees. There are over 120 courses at full and part-time, from entry level right up to university level. This modern campus is in a central location, and many of the courses allow students to gain direct experience working on placement with local businesses.

Doncaster and Bassetlaw Teaching Hospital has a variety of healthcare-related courses and qualifications on offer. The Trust trains 25% of all medical students in the region in addition to 30% of all other healthcare professional students.

The Light Forge Academy caters students to gain the necessary experience and qualifications to work in the film, TV, and gaming industries.

Vocational skills and qualifications are widely available at the schools and FE colleges, creating a ready pipeline of apprentices and qualified workers with the necessary theoretical and practical skills to help local businesses to grow and thrive.
